Releasing the Good Girl Tax
You've been giving so much. It's time to receive. Starting now.
Introduction
Read slowly. Pause where indicated (…)
Come to stillness. Let your body relax. Close your eyes and breathe in deeply… and release.
This space is yours. You don't have to earn your place here.
Body
Breathe in again… and let go.
I want to talk about something that many high-achieving women carry quietly — the Good Girl Tax.
It's the invisible cost of always being agreeable. Of saying yes when you mean no. Of charging less than you're worth because you don't want to seem greedy. Of giving more than you receive because that's what "good" women do.
It shows up in your finances. In your business. In your relationships with money.
And it costs you — in dollars, in energy, and in peace.
Take a breath… and just sit with that for a moment. (pause)
Where have you been paying the Good Girl Tax in your financial life?
Maybe you've undercharged for your gifts.
Maybe you've lent money you couldn't afford to give.
Maybe you've put everyone else's financial needs before your own.
Just notice it. No judgment. Just awareness.
Now I want you to hear this clearly: Wanting to be paid what you're worth is not greed. It is self-respect.
Breathwork
Breathe in self-worth… breathe out the need for approval.
Breathe in your value… breathe out the habit of shrinking.
Breathe in abundance… breathe out the tax you've been paying in silence.
(pause 30 seconds)
You are allowed to receive. You are allowed to charge your worth. You are allowed to say no to what depletes you and yes to what builds you.
Repeat these affirmations:
"I am worthy of being paid well for my gifts."
"I release the habit of shrinking to make others comfortable."
"Receiving is not selfish — it is sustainable."
Closing
Take one final deep breath in… and release.
Open your eyes gently.
You've been giving so much. It's time to receive. Starting now.
