Releasing Imposter Syndrome
Audio coming soon — follow along with the written meditation below
Introduction
Read slowly. Pause where indicated (…)
Find a comfortable seat or lie down. Close your eyes gently. Take a slow breath in through your nose… and release it through your mouth.
Let your shoulders drop. Let your jaw soften. Let this moment be only yours.
You are safe here. And what you carry — the doubt, the second-guessing, the quiet voice that says you don't quite belong — you can set it down right now. Just for these few minutes. It will not serve you here.
Body
There is a voice that follows high-achieving women into every room. It whispers as you walk through the door. It asks: Do you really belong here? Are you really qualified? What if they find out you don't know as much as they think?
That voice has a name. Imposter syndrome. And today, we are going to look it in the eye.
Take a breath in… and release. (…)
Here is what I want you to know: imposter syndrome is not a sign that you don't belong. It is a sign that you care deeply about doing well. It lives in the most capable people — not the least capable ones.
You have arrived in every room you've entered. Every credential you hold, you earned. Every result you've delivered, you produced. The evidence of your ability is not in your head — it is in your history.
Breathe in deeply… and release. (…)
Now I want you to visualize yourself walking into a room where you fully belong. A room where your voice matters. Where your ideas land. Where the people around you lean in when you speak.
See yourself seated at the table — not at the edge, not near the door, but fully present, fully arrived. Notice how your back is straight. Notice how your eyes are steady. Notice the quiet confidence in the way you hold yourself.
This is not a stranger. This is you — without the doubt. This is who you have always been when the noise gets quiet.
Breathe in… and release. (…)
The imposter is not the truth of who you are. It is the fear of being seen fully — and the worry that full visibility will somehow expose you as less. But you are not less. You are exactly what this room needs.
Breathwork
Breathe in belonging… breathe out doubt.
Breathe in confidence… breathe out the imposter.
Breathe in your truth… breathe out what was never yours to carry.
Sit with this for a moment… (pause 30 seconds)
Repeat after me:
“I belong in every room I have earned a seat in.”
“My credentials are real. My results are real. My value is real.”
“I am not an imposter. I am a woman becoming more fully herself.”
Closing
Take a long, slow breath in… and release. (…)
Carry this with you: the doubt is not the truth. It is just noise. And you have always been capable of moving through noise.
The next time that voice whispers — who do you think you are? — answer it. Tell it exactly who you are. Then walk through the door.
You are ready. You always were.
